Final Project

So this is my final project for the Graphic Arts class. I didn't really have any references or influences, I just let my brain kind of flow and this is the result. This piece was done in photoshop. I pulled images from different sources and erased and painted over the pictures while combining and layering different textures and patterns. I used the filter gallery to add effects to the picture. The original piece was very bright but the dark looked more dramatic and cool. I applied rule of thirds, keeping the subjects somewhat out of the middle. I like the end result.

Pulp Cover #2

This is the second pulp cover that I did. Hands are holding the moon up to the sky so it does not fall in the ocean, therefore adding a sense of danger to the picture. I used the ocean and galaxy because I really enjoy moons and oceans combined. I edited this photo in Photoshop, using the magic brush tool, filter gallery and eraser tools. The filter gallery added the contrast and pretty details.

Influences for my Pulp Cover

This is an album cover by Crown the Empire that inspired my pulp cover. The album cover has a similar idea to the pulp idea, there is chaos around them but technically the guy is saving the damsel. Another photo that influenced my Pulp cover is a photoshop picture my friend did, I can't put the picture here but basically it was the sun crashing into the moon over a lake. I combined the two ideas kind of and created my Pulp cover all using Photoshop.

Pulp Cover

This is my pulp cover. The original picture was a galaxy background with a tree. I edited the tree out and put the people in the middle. I also put the moon and sun in there. All of this was done in Photoshop. I used the adjustment tools, the filter gallery, and the clone stamp tool, along with the eraser tool. The impending disaster is the sun and moon trying to collide, the hero is the guy and the damsel is the girl.

Art Proposal

The things I plan to do for the rest of the year are work with more paint instead of drawing and paint flowers and different subjects. I might try and do different styles also. Probably going to focus more on Photoshop art also. I enjoy drawing tattoo looking designs and abstract stuff. So those are the things I plan to do for the rest of the year. The picture above is my favorite artist, the graphic artist for Ghost Town, Allister Dippner.

Portrait in a different style

This is just a drawing/painting I did when I was bored. I don't really have a project to use it for, but I wanted to post it anyway. I wanted to make it really contrasty, the original drawing was just black and white.

Art Start: Perfection and Art

"Artists who seek perfection in everything are those who cannot attain it in anything."- Eugene Delacroix

Those who seek perfection will never get it, because art can never truly be perfect and neither can anything else.

Fairytale: Legend of Zelda; The Rough Draft

This was the original drawing I did of Link and Zelda. The shadowing and highlights sort of got lost within the photoshop editing. I used just a regular pencil and paper.

Art Start: Clock Strikes Twelve

The clock strikes 12. You have to have to hurry before everything changes. What do you leave behind?

I would leave behind my old ipod, so maybe someone could find it and be enlightened with amazing music.

Fairytale: Legend of Zelda

This is my piece for the Fairytale assignment. The entire assignment was to create work inspired by Camille Rose Garcia. The bright colors and contrast fit this theme. Although Legend of Zelda is a video game, it still has fairy tale aspects to the storyline. With Zelda being my favorite game, it inspired me to draw Link and Zelda together. I drew this first, then took a picture and edited it in photoshop. I colored Link with the paintbrush tool in photoshop, but didnt color Zelda to create contrast. I also used the filter gallery in photoshop to create certain effects within the art.

Art Start: Imagination vs Reality

"Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality."

I believe this quote is true. Sometimes reality can be stressful and the only release is through creative outlets and imagination, whether it be for music or art. For me, I use music and art to indulge my time in.

Valentines Day cards

These eight pictures are my valentines card designs. I figured candy and hearts would accurately portray the theme of Valentines. I used photoshop to create these images, the paint brush tool, the filter gallery and other tools.

Trippy Lollipop

I made this lollipop in photoshop for the valentines day assignment. It looks trippy because of the rasta colors and the swirly lines in the background. I used the Free Transform tool, the paint brush tool and the filter gallery to create these effects.

Invention/Valentines Day

This was originally a pink flower with a white background that I drew. I scanned it into the computer. I used filters on Photoshop to create texture and effects. I also changed the opacity of some of the colors used. The paint brush tool was used to cover mistakes on the original picture. This is a little late for the invention assignment but...

CCC Poster Design Final

This is the updated poster design for the CCC play for JCATD. All of this was done in photoshop. The top text is "Impact", the chalk text is "Eraser" and the bottom line of text is "Arial" I believe. I stuck to a black and white theme to resemble chalk on a black chalkboard.

Caucasion Chalk Circle Poster Design

My poster design for the JCATD play "Caucasion Chalk Circle". I used a photo from my night photography assignment. I used this again because I thought the mask would reflect the theater aspect well. I downloaded the chalk font. I also used the paint tool to paint the wood behind the mask and used the clone stamp tool to change the way the mask looked a little. I also used a filter to make the picture look more smudgey and contrasted.

Sandman Illustration

This is the picture I photoshopped for the assignment "Sandman". The mask is a picture I took in photography, I scanned it and edited it with the paint tool to give it color and contrast. The burn tool and dodge tool was also used for tiny details. I used the rough pastel filter in Photoshop for both pictures and used max contrast and brightness. I like the overall finished look, because of its major contrast and dark look. I also used many of the adjustment tools in Photoshop to make it look this way. This assignment was kind of difficult, as I've never heard of sandman before.

Nefarious

My illustration for the theme "Nefarious". I've heard from a lot of people say that this piece looks a little darker than I intended, so I used it for Nefarious. I used oil pastel for everything except the swirls inside the cross. For those, I used prismacolor colored pencils.
